PA ATHLETE OF THE WEEK | WEEK 4
9/27/26
Kinley Purdy
Lake-Lehman | Junior | Forward
Purdy entered Saturday’s rivalry game against Dallas three goals shy of 100 for her career. Dallas actually kept her off the scoresheet throughout the first half, despite the attention she commanded from the defense. Then Purdy took over after halftime. She scored all three of her goals in the second half and added an assist, helping Lake-Lehman turn a 3–0 halftime advantage into a 10–0 victory in the inaugural “Battle for the Ball.”
The storybook finish came with 11:33 remaining. Purdy beat a Dallas defender on the left side of the penalty area and finished into the corner for her third goal of the afternoon — career goal No. 100. She reached the milestone only four games into her junior season. Purdy entered 2026 with 93 career goals after scoring 42 as a freshman and a school-record 51 as a sophomore, when she also recorded 22 assists and earned All-State recognition.
100 goals before the end of September of her junior year is wild.
Five Touches, Four Scores: Jaylen Walker Explodes for Lewisburg
9/21/26
How do you turn five catches into 219 yards and four touchdowns? You make nearly every touch count.
Lewisburg’s Jaylen Walker delivered one of Pennsylvania’s most explosive individual performances of Week 3, turning just five receptions into 219 yards and four touchdowns in the Green Dragons’ 38–17 victory over Hughesville. His touchdown catches covered 43, 79, 12 and 73 yards, an incredible 43.8 yards per reception. And Walker wasn’t finished.
He struck on special teams, too, taking a punt 61 yards to the house. By the end of the night, Walker had piled up 330 all-purpose yards and five touchdowns, personally accounting for 30 of Lewisburg’s 38 points. Even knowing where the football was headed didn’t solve the problem. Lewisburg coach Eric Wicks said Walker faced double coverage against Hughesville after opponents had triple-teamed him the previous week.
Walker is a four-year starter and two-time All-PHAC III and All-Area selection, but Week 3 provided a performance that stood out even against his already accomplished résumé. Big plays on offense. A touchdown on special teams. Five trips to the end zone.
For turning limited opportunities into game-changing plays, Jaylen Walker is our Week 3 Athlete of the Week.
9/13/26
Bishop McDevitt senior quarterback Sebastian Williams didn’t need many throws to make a major impact in Week 2.
Williams completed 9 of 13 passes for 204 yards and five touchdowns, leading the Crusaders to a dominant 45-0 victory over Central Dauphin East.
That works out to a touchdown on nearly 39 percent of his pass attempts and more than 22 yards per completion — remarkable efficiency from the veteran quarterback.
The performance also continued a tremendous start to Williams’ senior season. One week earlier, he threw for 236 yards and five touchdowns in a 35-21 victory over Maryland power Our Lady of Good Counsel. Through his first two games, Williams had therefore accounted for 440 passing yards and 10 touchdown passes, helping McDevitt open 2-0.
It’s hardly coming out of nowhere.
Williams entered 2026 after throwing for 2,319 yards and 20 touchdowns as a junior, establishing himself as one of Pennsylvania’s more accomplished returning quarterbacks.
But Week 2 was about command and efficiency. Nine completions. Five touchdowns. A 45-point victory. A shutout.
For his performance against Central Dauphin East, Bishop McDevitt quarterback Sebastian Williams is the Crozier Media Pennsylvania Athlete of the Week.
